Mission Statement: Queer Asian Spirit is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to affirming and supporting the spiritual lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people of Asian descent everywhere.
History: The group's origins date back to February of 2000, when Rev. Patrick S. Cheng established a listserv for the API Institute of MCC New York, a group of LGBTQ Asians in New York City who were interested in spiritual issues. This website was created in May of 2004, and Queer Asian Spirit is now a clearinghouse for LGBTQ Asian spirituality for people all around the world.
Coordinator: The coordinator of Queer Asian Spirit is Rev. Patrick S. Cheng, a theologian and ordained minister with the Metropolitan Community Church. For more information about Queer Asian Spirit, please see the Contact Us section of this website, or email Rev. Cheng at revpatrick (at) att (dot) net.
